Let’s take a look at the prominent new features, enhancements, and important changes in version 2503.

Dependency interface

The new Dependency interface provides a holistic view of external software components across all applications. On the Web UI, a dedicated interface allows browsing dependencies discovered in previous scans, and filtering them by vendors, product names, and versions. If a vulnerable dependency is found, a CPE link on the result page enables quick viewing of other applications with the same vulnerable dependency. On the CLI, the Dependency interface is the GetList method in the Dependency interface returns a list of dependencies discovered in previous scans, while the GetProjectList method returns a list of applications which have a dependency in the most recent scan. Although the Query interface has supported dependency querying since version 2203, developers are encouraged to switch to the more powerful and flexible methods in the Dependency interface.

The Dependency interface is in public preview as we work on bringing additional capabilities over the next few releases.

New tech stacks and source code analysis improvements

Version 2503 adds support for Perl applications and applications targeting PHP 8.4. Compatibility has been improved for static website frameworks and Java applications using JSF and JSP. Additionally, over 60 improvements have been made to the static analysis engines for ABAP, ASP, C/C++, ECMAScript, Go, PHP, and Python.
