Lucent Sky AVM version 2009 MR released

November 24, 2020

Welcome to Lucent Sky AVM version 2009 MR, the last final Minor Release of the year. As we look forward to finishing 2020 on a high note, we packed 2009 MR with improvements on the analysis and remediation engines, as well as usability and QoL updates on the Web UI, the CLI, and the API. Remediation engines

We have expanded the forth-generation remediation engine to support PHP applications. It is currently in public preview, and we expected it to reach GA later this year. The remediation engine has also received improvements on .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, and Java MVC websites. Customers using generic remediation can also benefit from improved support for Fortify Static Code Analyzer.

Analysis engines

We have added support for static websites built with ECMAScript-based front-end frameworks, as well as Visual Basic applications. In addition, intelligent analysis algorithms have been updated and systems with faster I/O should see greatly improved performance.

The binary analysis engines received performance improvements, and better support for applications targeting JDK 11 to 14.

The source code analysis engines for C++ and PHP have been updated, and custom data flow rules are now supported.

Interfaces

While we all want blazing fast servers, we understand many of our customers will need to run Lucent Sky AVM on servers with limited performance. In 2009 MR, we have added a low data mode to the Web UI. By reducing the information displayed on the dashboards, the Web UI should be much more responsive on servers with slow I/O. To enable low data mode, go to Settings > Account and turn on Low Data Mode.

We have also added API key support for on-premise customers. This allow users to access Lucent Sky AVM with an API key instead of their credentials. To create an API key, go to Settings > Account > Keys and select Create A New Key. To learn more about using API keys in the CLI, visit Get started with Lucent Sky AVM CLI in Lucent Sky Docs.
